
Timbers Defender Bill Tuiloma Called up for International Duty

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Timbers defender Bill Tuiloma was called into New Zealand Men's National Team to play in the Oceania FIFA World Cup Qualifying tournament, the club announced. Tuiloma joined New Zealand yesterday evening in Doha, Qatar.
Tuiloma and New Zealand are set to play the final group stage match of the tournament against New Caledonia on Thursday, March 24 at 10 a.m. (Pacific) at Qatar SC Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The result of the match will dictate if New Zealand advances to the final stages of the tournament, which will take place on March 27 (semifinal) and March 30 (final) at Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
Tuiloma, 26, has made 27 appearances for New Zealand, scoring his first international goal on Oct. 11 in 2021 against Curaçao. The defender has been part of New Zealand's U-17, U-20 and U-23 teams before making his senior debut on Oct. 15, 2013, at the age of 18.
