Timbers Add 2011 Preseason Matches

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced their slate of currently scheduled preseason matches, which includes a series of games against Major League Soccer sides during the club's training camps in California and Arizona.

The Timbers preseason exhibition schedule begins Friday, Feb. 4, while the team is in California, against the Premier Development League's Ventura County Fusion at Ventura College; tickets are available online at www.vcfusion.com . Portland will play two other preseason matches in California, including one against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, Feb. 6.

At Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz., the Timbers will play four preseason matches, starting with a game against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, Feb. 19. During the team's stay in Arizona, the Timbers will also face Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, Feb. 26.

The team returns to Portland for the final three weeks of preseason training before kicking off its inaugural MLS season on March 19, against the defending-MLS Cup champion Colorado Rapids on the road.
