GRAND CHUTE, WI - Carlos Rodríguez was perfect in his start for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on September 3 at Peoria and Minor League Baseball rewarded the Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect with the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week Award. Rodríguez follows up on Stiven Cruz winning the MWL's Pitcher of the Week Award last week.
Rodríguez, Milwaukee's sixth round pick in the 2021 draft out of Florida SouthWestern State Junior College, pitched six perfect innings with nine strikeouts and picked up the win for the Timber Rattlers in their game against the Peoria Chiefs on September 3. Rodríguez matched his single-game high as a professional for innings pitched and strikeouts with his performance in that game.
The 20-year-old right-hander is 3-1 with a 1.44 ERA in six starts in the Midwest League since joining the Timber Rattlers on August 3. MLB Pipeline rates Rodríguez, who is in his first professional season, as the #19 prospect in the Brewers system. Baseball America has Rodríguez at #27 in the organization.
The Timber Rattlers have had six weekly award winners - four Pitchers of the Week and two Players of the Week - this season.

Rodríguez and the Timber Rattlers begin their final series of the 2022 season on Tuesday night when they host the Beloit Sky Carp at 6:40pm with Milwaukee Brewers infielder Mike Brosseau slated to make the first of two rehabilitation appearances with Wisconsin. Rodríguez is scheduled as Wisconsin's starting pitcher on Friday, September 9.
