In what was not an indication of what was to come for the rest of the game, the teams played a scoreless first period, highlighted by an exceptional pad save by Towle on a two on zero from Tigres forwards Enzo Lottin & Thomas Paquet.

After no goals in the first period, the second period didn't wait long for a goal as Boilard zapped it by Catanzariti at the one minute mark. A power play marker from Shilov tied the game but the Eagles reclaimed the edge late when Gendron tipped a Jettelson shot by Catanzariti.

Both teams would rally in the third period. First, it was the Tigres tying the game at 5:12, as a Brayden Besner shot went in and out of the net by Towle quickly- so much so that it was reviewed, but the goal was upheld. Then 33 seconds later, Vlasov notched his first to give Victoriaville their first lead.

The Tigres' power play struck again before the halfway mark of the period, as Vlasov hammered a one timer from the left faceoff circle for the first two goal lead of the game for either team. That margin only lasted 34 seconds as Sauthier took advantage of a turnover in the Victoriaville zone to rip a shot by Catanzariti.

The first Eagle power play of the game came after the halfway mark of the third period, and it was worth the wait- in a play that somewhat mirrored the Eagles second goal, Gendron tipped a Jettelson shot by Catanzariti and it was a tie game. Neither team could break the tie in the final eight minutes of regulation, nor overtime although both teams registered four shots in the extra session.

Neither team scored in the first round of the shootout, and Eagles forward Romain Litalien ran out of room on his deke attempt in the second round. Shilov lit the lamp, and Boilard was unable to counter as the Tigres wrapped up a shootout win.

The Eagles are next in action on Monday afternoon for a special holiday game against the Charlottetown Islanders! Puck drop is at 2 PM. The game is available for purchase at https://shorturl.at/vLKIhand you can also hear all the action on 1270 AM CJCB or online at www.cjcbradio.com
