Moncton Wildcats News Release
It's a Sunday Funday at the Den with an Acadian twist - music provided by Pierre & JF (a fun loving Moncton based acoustic duo with a bilingual repertoire to please just about everyone, from classic rock to traditional reels) & Kelsey Albert (une artiste acadienne de Cocagne, N-B, qui fusionne pop-country moderne et énergie feel-good, avec une touche acadienne). Par-T-Perfect will be there with bouncy castles & Acadian-themed face-painting.

The Cats return to the friendly confines of the Avenir Centre after adding 3 road wins to their 10-game streak. They have outscored opponents 57-18 over that span. More recently, February is only half over and the Cats have put up 29 goals while surrendering only 7 in 4 matches.
Captain Caleb has led the way lately - Desnoyers has 21 points (5G, 16A) in his last 9 games. Gabe Smith has been on similar pace over his last 5 with 10 points (6G, 4A). Smith is also the league leader in powerplay goals with 15. Utah Mammoth management must be patting their scouts on the back as the 2 prospects run rampant.
Sharks draftee Teddy Mutryn has been the hottest Cat this month. He has 10 points (4G, 6A) in 4 February games.
Future Red Wing Rudy Guimond is 12-1 since Christmas and leads the entire CHL in wins (31). Guimond is 2nd in the QMJHL in GAA (2.34) and save percentage (.922).
On Friday, Adam Fortier-Gendron became just the 5th Wildcats defender to record a hattrick. Adam leads the QMJHL in plus/minus with a +50, followed closely by teammate Tommy Bleyl at +49.
It seems almost every game that one Cats offensive record is tied or broken. Don't miss our next games on Sunday & Monday - you might miss history being made.
Shawinigan come to WildTown at the end of a '4 games in 5 days' Maritime road trip. They are 0-2 so far with a game in Saint John on Saturday night. The Cataractes (30-16-1-4) sit 5th overall and have won 6 of their last 10.
Veteran & 19 year-old Felix Lacerte is their leading scorer with 73 points (34G, 39A), good enough for 3rd place in the QMJHL. 2024 QMJHL 1st Rd pick (3rd overall) Chad Lygitsakos has 50 points this season, more than doubling last years totals.
On the back end, Shawinigan depend on recent QMJHL Goalie of the Week Mathys Fernandez. The 20 year-old has good stats - 19-11 in 35 starts, 2.83 GAA and .909 SV%.
