Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers played their fourth game of their five game BC Road Trip and defeated the Kelowna Rockets 8-5 on Friday night.

The Tabbies had eight different goal scorers in the game and they improved their road trip record to 3-1-0-0. Affiliate player Teague Patton made his WHL debut in the game and finished with a +1 rating.

The Tigers and Rockets exchanged power play goals in the first period before the Tigers took the lead late in the frame. Rockets' veteran forward Kobe Mohr opened the scoring on the power play just over six minutes into the game.

On a backdoor pass from Elijah Brown, Brett Kemp buried the puck into the net while on the power play to tie it up 1-1. Ryan Chyzowski also assisted on Kemp's fifth goal of the season.

With less than a minute to play in the frame, Tigers goaltender Mads Søgaard came across the net to make a big save on Rockets forward Kaedan Korczak. Afterwards, the Tabbies quickly transitioned down the ice and Daniel Baker scored his sixth goal of the season with thirty-three seconds on the clock to send the Orange and Black to the dressing room leading 2-1. Baker's goal was assisted by Jonathan Brinkman and Brown.

Early into the second stanza, the Rockets tied the game up 2-2 with a goal from Alex Swetlikoff.

Just over five minutes into the frame, the Tabbies regained the lead when Brinkman scored on the power play. Brinkman's second goal of the season was assisted by Chyzowski and James Hamblin.

Less than a minute later, Tyler Preziuso set Bryan Lockner up to score his fifth goal of the season and make it 4-2 for the Orange and Black.

Rockets' captain Nolan Foote was ejected from the game for a check to the head of Nick McCarry. During the five minute major, the Tigers and Rockets each scored a goal. Preziuso scored the power play goal for the Tigers and his sixth goal of the season was assisted by Baker and Cole Clayton.

Rockets' veteran forward Michael Farren scored a shorthanded goal before Leif Mattson brought the Rockets within one late in the frame.

With less than nine minutes to play in the game, Mattson scored his second of the night to tie it up 5-5.

The stalemate was shortlived as just under a minute later, Lockner combined with Brinkman to set up Trevor Longo to score the game winning goal. Longo's goal was his fourth of the season.

Late in the game, Corson Hopwo scored the insurance goal on a play from Preziuso. Hopwo's goal was his second of the season.

With less than four minutes to play in the game, the Rockets pulled goaltender Roman Basran to give themselves an extra attacker while the play was in the Tigers' end. Eric Van Impe cleared the puck down the ice into the empty net to score his second goal of the season and make it a 8-5 victory for Medicine Hat.

Søgaard made 28 saves on 33 shots faced while Basran stopped 33 of the Tabbies' 40 shots.

The Orange and Black are now 12-5-1-0 and they will travel to Kamloops to battle the Blazers for the final game of their five game BC Road Trip.
