November 9, 2019 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs came up just short of their first victory over the Everett Silvertips as they lost by a score of 4-3 on Friday night in the Spokane Arena. The Chiefs scored a pair of goals 29-seconds apart late in the third to pull within one, but couldn't quite manage to force an overtime period.

Everett's Gage Goncalves tallied a power play goal at 2:01 of the first followed by a score from Spokane's Filip Kral at 8:12 to pull even at 1-1. The marker was the Toronto Maple Leaf prospect's seventh of the season and moved him into second among WHL defensemen in goals. Goncalves struck again at 14:11 to give the 'Tips a 2-1 lead entering the first break.

Everett extended their lead with a Conrad Mitchell goal at 15:36 second period and added their second power play goal of the night at 3:18 of the third to make it 3-1. Spokane's Adam Beckman gave the Chiefs late life with a goal, his seventh of the season, on the power play at 18:12 which was followed by an Eli Zummack score at 18:41 as the Chiefs narrowed the gap to one, but that's where things would end as the clock expired with Everett on top 4-3.

Spokane goalie Campbell Arnold was 22-for-26 between the pipes, allowing two power play goals while Everett's Dustin Wolf, who leads the WHL in save percentage, finished the night 34-for-37. The Chiefs went 1-for-5 on the power play and the Silvertips went 2-for-4.
