New Jersey Cardinals News Release
Tonight at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the New Jersey Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) lost to the Oneonta Tigers (Detroit Tigers) by a score of 2-0. With the loss the Cardinals fall to 2-7, and Oneonta improves to 7-3. Erik Drown lost in his first professional start and now stands at 0-1. The Tigers won with Anthony Toney (1-0) the recipient. Tiger Christopher Homer saved the game, his first of the season.
The final score was 2-0 this evening, as the Cardinals and the Rally Cow came up short. Both runs for Oneonta scored in the 2nd inning a John McGorty single scoring Garth McKinney. Nick McIntyres two-out knock plated McGorty for the second run.
The Cardinals open up their first doubleheader tomorrow afternoon against Brooklyn, Saturday June 28th, at 1 PM and 5 PM. During the first game twelve fans will receive baseball bats courtesy of Miller Lite. In the late game, Sponge Bob will make an appearance for the fans.
