State College Spikes News Release
STATE COLLEGE, PA - The Oneonta Tigers scored in every inning but the first as they beat the Spikes, 10-1, in the first of two seven-inning contests at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Thursday night. David Rubinstein provided the only Spikes run with his second home run of the season, a solo shot to right-center field in the second inning.
Luis Sanz (4-2) pitched the first complete game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park history, going the full seven innings and allowing one run on seven hits and two walks to earn the win for Oneonta (28-22). State College (27-26) starter Nelson Pereira (3-4) took the loss, allowing three runs on two hits and four walks over three innings.
Right-hander Jason Erickson (2-1) makes the start for State College in game two of the doubleheader. Erickson will meet Oneonta right-hander Cory Hamilton (3-3). Game time is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
