Medicine Hat Tigers News Release

Irvine, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers bounced back to beat the Moose Jaw Warriors 3-0 in the second game of their home and home WHL exhibition series.

After falling 5-2 in Moose Jaw the night before, the Orange and Black scored three third period goals to win the game in front of a sold out crowd in Irvine, Alberta.

Early into the final frame, Tigers veteran forward Gary Haden broke the stalemate between the Tabbies and the Warriors. Haden intercepted the puck and raced down the ice to beat Warriors goaltender Brodan Salmond.

Midway through the third stanza while Tigers' defenceman Joel Craven was in the box, veteran defenceman Dalton Gally set up veteran forward Josh Williams to score a shorthanded goal and extend Medicine Hat's lead.

Late in the game, Moose Jaw pulled Salmond to give themselves an extra attacker. Shortly after, Tigers veteran Dawson Heathcote scored on the empty net. His goal was assisted by rookie Jalen Price and gave the Tabbies a 3-0 victory.

Tigers rookies Kaeden Lane and Garin Bjorklund split netminding duties for the home team. Lane made 19 saves in the first half of the game. Bjorklund stopped 22 shots.

The Orange and Black are now 2-1-1-0 in this WHL Preseason and will travel to Red Deer Saturday for their final preseason match against the Rebels.
