Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Wednesday that the football club has signed international free agent defensive back Cassius Vaughn.
Vaughn, 28, split the 2015 season with the National Football League's Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers, appearing in one game for each team. The 5-11, 195-pound native of Memphis, Tennessee suited up in 69 NFL games, starting 23 times, over parts of six seasons with the Denver Broncos (2010-11), Indianapolis Colts (2012-13), Detroit Lions (2014), Ravens and Chargers, registering 143 total tackles, seven interceptions, one forced fumbled and two interception return touchdowns. He also returned 25 kickoffs for 703 yards (28.1 average), including a career-high 97-yard return for a touchdown as a Bronco on January 2, 2011 against the Chargers. Vaughn was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Denver on April 28, 2010.
Prior to turning pro, Vaughn spent four years (2006-09) at the University of Mississippi. In 50 games with the Ole Miss Rebels, he collected 152 tackles, 1.5 sacks and five interceptions.
The Tiger-Cats also announced the release of fullback Felix Faubert-Lussier so he can return to Laval University for the 2016 CIS season. Faubert-Lussier was selected by Hamilton in the fifth round, 39th overall, in the 2016 CFL Draft in May.
