Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are excited to announce that the team has come to terms on a two-year (plus an option) contract with wide receiver Craig Yeast.

In 2004, Yeast led the Tiger-Cats in receiving yards, kickoff returns, missed field goal returns and punt returns.

"Craig is a huge threat for our offence. His speed and his big play ability make him so dangerous," said Tiger-Cats head coach Greg Marshall. "When you factor in his special teams play last year, he was an outstanding all-around player for us."

The Danville, Kentucky native played in all 18 regular season games for the Ticats last season, caught 59 receptions for 1184 yards and eight touchdowns. Yeast also returned 41 kickoffs for 805 yards, 53 punts for 420 yards, and eight missed field goal returns for 250 yards and one touchdown. He also carried the ball six times for 44 yards.

His team-leading 1184 receiving yards was the fourth highest total in the CFL last season. Yeast also had the second most combined yards in the entire CFL with 2703, one yard short of league leader Corey Holmes of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

"Craig can take a short ball and turn it upfield or he can run by people and become a deep threat. He is a very special receiver in this league and we expect big numbers from him again," Marshall added.

The CFL recognized Yeast as CFL Offensive Player of the Week (week 19) and CFL Special Teams Player of the Week (week 20). He was also a runner-up for a Player of the Week award three times (Weeks 1,2 and 6) during the 2005 season.
