
Tiger-Cats Add Canadian Talent

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that they have added a trio of standout CIS players, as the team has signed non-import offensive lineman Matt Morencie, non-import receiver Scott Valberg and non-import defensive back Raymond Wladichuk.
Morencie, a 6-3, 290-pound native of Windsor, Ontario was awarded the J.P. Metras Trophy as the CIS lineman of the year last season and was also recognized as a CIS and OUA first-team all-star with Windsor.
Morencie will take part in this weekend's East-West Shrine Game in Orlando, Florida.
Valberg, a 6-2, 200-pound native of Kingston, Ontario helped lead Queen's to their 2009 Vanier Cup championship after an impressive CIS career that saw him catch 164 passes for 2,917 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Valberg was named a first-team CIS and OUA all-star in 2009 and 2008 after leading the CIS in receiving in each season.
Wladichuk, a 6-1, 190-pound native of Vernon, British Columba was drafted by the Ticats in the fifth round (38th overall) of the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft.
After attending training camp with the Black and Gold last season, Wladichuk returned to Simon Fraser for a fourth season with the Clan.
