(Norfolk, VA) - Quintin Berry drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning off Charlotte reliever Ryan Kussmaul, and the Norfolk Tides walked-off with a 4-3 win over the Charlotte Knights on Thursday at Harbor Park in the finale of the two-game series. It was Norfolk's second walk-off win in the series. The Tides won Wednesday's game in the bottom of the 10th inning.

With the game tied at 3-3, Kussmaul began the ninth inning by allowing a single to Ivan De Jesus. Kussmaul (2-4, 4.39) started the ninth after coming into the game in relief of Parker Frazier, who was sharp over three scoreless innings. Frazier gave up just one hit on the night.

After the leadoff single, Cord Phelps moved DeJesus to second base with a sacrifice bunt off of Kussmaul. Then after Steve Lombardozzi was intentionally walked, Kussmaul gave up a single to Julio Borbon, which loaded the bases with just one out. It was Borbon's third hit of the game and set things up for Berry, who drew the game-winning walk on five pitches from Kussmaul. Berry finished the game 1-for-3 with two walks and three RBIs.

Carlos Sanchez led the way offensively for the Knights. Sanchez went 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. He's now batting .296 on the season. Micah Johnson, Josh Phegley, and Jordan Danks all had two hits apiece.

Erik Johnson started for Charlotte and allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits over five innings. Johnson walked four and struck-out three. He didn't factor in the decision.

The Knights will now return home to BB&T Ballpark and open a two-game series with the Tides on Friday. RHP Dylan Axelrod will start for the Knights against LHP Chris Jones for Norfolk. Friday is July Fourth and the Knights will light up the Uptown Charlotte skyline with the 2014 edition of SkyShow, presented by News Talk 1110 WBT and 107.9 The Link.
