Robert Andino homered and drove home five to power Norfolk to a 10-9 comeback win over the Gwinnett Braves Tuesday night at Harbor Park.

Gwinnett jumped out to a quick lead off of Norfolk starter Brandon Erbe, as the Braves plated five runs on four hits and an error in the top of the first inning. The big blow of the frame was a three-run homer by second baseman Joe Thurston, his fifth long ball of the season.

Norfolk got on the board in the second frame on an RBI double by Brandon Snyder, then pulled to within 5-4 an inning later on a three-run blast by Andino. The homer extended Andino's season-high hitting streak to nine games, and he's hit .350 (14-for-40) with two home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs scored over that span.

Andino knotted the score at 5-5 in the fifth on an RBI double, then came around to score the go-ahead run two batters later on an RBI single by Josh Bell.

Norfolk extended its lead to 9-5 with three unearned runs in the sixth inning, but Gwinnett battled back with four runs in the seventh to tie the game and deny Norfolk starter Brandon Erbe his first win of the season. Barbaro Canizares and Mitch Jones each had run-scoring singles in the frame, and Jordan Schafer tied the score with a two-out single off of Kam Mickolio (2-2).

The Tides pushed the winning run across in the eighth inning, as pinch-hitter Blake Davis drew a one-out walk from Cory Gearrin (0-3), moved to third on a hit-and-run single by Matt Angle, then scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Andino.

Dennis Sarfate then struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning to end the contest and wrap up his fifth save of the season.

Prior to Tuesday's 10-run outburst, Norfolk had scored just 20 runs in Erbe's previous 11 starts of the season.

The Tides and Braves will continue their four-game series Wednesday night from Harbor Park, with first pitch set for 7:15. Armando Gabino (2-0, 2.73) is scheduled to take the mound for Norfolk against right-hander Tim Gustafson (5-3, 5.74).
