Ticats Welcome Five More Into Lair

Hamilton, Ontario -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has come to terms with five import players. Defensive backs Anthony Walker, Kelvin Millhouse, and Thaddeus Kornegay, along with running back Cooper Rego and defensive end Torrance Heggie have agreed to two-year (plus an option) contracts with the Ticats.

Walker, a 5-11, 183-pound defensive back, already has three years of CFL experience under his belt. The Lancaster, California native played in 27 games over three seasons with the B.C. Lions, recording 84 defensive tackles, 16 special teams tackles, one sack and five interceptions. Prior to turning pro, Walker spent four years at Utah State, making 175 total tackles and seven interceptions in 44 games with the Aggies.

Millhouse, a 6-1, 208-pound defensive back from Santa Ana, California, had brief stints with the NFL's Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins in 2004. Before joining the NFL, Millhouse played three seasons at the University of Hawaii, finishing his NCAA career with 150 total tackles and 13 interceptions in 40 games.

Kornegay joins the Ticats after four seasons with the University of Fordham Rams, where he recorded 198 tackles (148 solo) and 14 interceptions in 46 games. The 6-0, 185-pound defensive back was a two-time first team All-Patriot League selection and was a first team All-American as a senior.

Rego spent last season with the Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the National Indoor Football League where he finished second on the team in rushing with 227 yards and six touchdowns on 58 carries in 13 games. In 30 career games at the University of West Virginia, Rego ran for 1,002 carries and 12 touchdowns on 235 carries.

Heggie, a defensive end from Vanceboro, North Carolina played in five games with the Peoria Pirates of Arena Football 2, making nine total tackles in 2003. Heggie had a two-year stint with Rutgers University, recording 86 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 20 games.
