Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
Hamilton, Ontario â The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that tight end Ray Thomas has been released after failing his medical examination due to a herniated cervical disc. Thomas suffered the injury in a game late last season.
"Ray was a great player and a great guy in the community," said Ticats head coach Greg Marshall. "We'll miss his presence on our team and wish him all the best in the future."
The Ticats also announced the signing of non-import wide receiver Chad Rempel to a two-year (plus an option) contract. The 6-3, 215-pound native of Sherwood Park, Alberta spent the past five seasons (2000-2004) at the University of Saskatchewan where he was twice named a Canada West All-Star (2000, 2002).
