Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are excited to announce the addition of import running back Howard Jackson to their roster.
"When you are talking about Howard Jackson, you have to talk about his speed," said Ticats Director of Player Personnel Craig Smith "Howard has a chance to be both a return specialist and a running back in this league."
Jackson, a 5-9, 160-pound native of Freeport, Texas, spent four seasons at UTEP where he totaled 3,466 rushing yards, 726 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns in 47 games. The 23 year-old also racked up 1,947 kickoff return yards on 81 attempts (24.0 average) and finished his collegiate career as UTEP's all-time leader in all-purpose yards with 6,153.
The two-time first-team All-WAC selection attended and was released from the Detroit Lions' training camp in August. Jackson has signed a practice roster agreement.
