Ottawa Renegades News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Renegades will be taking part in the Fourth Annual Canadian Hearing Society Dart Showdown, scheduled for Wednesday evening, October 5th at the Lone Star Café in the east end of the city.
Tickets are still available at $25 apiece for the event, which goes from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Lemieux Street location.
Over the past three years, more than $45,000 has been raised in the annual fundraiser for the Canadian Hearing Society. The funds that are raised are used to support the client financial assistance fund. This year, the entire Renegades team will be attending the event.
"This is a great event that we are looking forward to," said Renegades president Lonie Glieberman. "Being there as a team, with all our players and fans and supporting a worthwhile cause such as the Canadian Hearing Society is what our franchise is all about."
Approximately $13,000 was raised in 2004, which helped purchase hearing devices for clients of the Hearing Society who would be unable to afford the costs on their own.
Fans attending the dart showdown will receive a dinner, an opportunity to win prizes and get a chance to meet the Renegades and other celebrities, while supporting a good cause and having an enjoyable Wednesday evening.
