
ThunderBolts Win Exhibition Opener Versus Gary

Crestwood, IL - The Windy City ThunderBolts opened their exhibition season with a 6-3 victory over the Northern League's Gary SouthShore RailCats on Saturday afternoon at Hawk Ford Field.
The RailCats jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning. Rob Marconi walked to lead off the ThunderBolt half of the frame and came around to score later in the inning on a wild pitch to make it 2-1.
Nate Price extended the Gary lead with a solo home run to right in the top of the fifth off of Jeff Mault. The ThunderBolts pulled back to within one on an RBI single by Josh Horn in the bottom of the fifth.
Windy City tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth. Marconi doubled and later scored on a wild pitch by Steve Edsall. The ThunderBolts took the lead with a pair of runs in the eighth and added another run in the ninth. The teams played nine and a half innings of baseball.
The ThunderBolts will travel to Gary for a rematch with the RailCats on Sunday afternoon. Windy City's second and final home exhibition game is Friday, May 18 at 7:05PM against the Rockford RiverHawks.
The ThunderBolts will then host the RiverHawks for Opening Night at Hawk Ford Field on May 23, 2007. The complete schedule can be found at www.WCThunderBolts.com.
