ThunderBolts Top Rivermen 2-1, Finishing a Five-Game Road Trip

EVANSVILLE, IN - The Thunderbolts experienced their worst defeat on Friday night losing to Peoria 8-2. They came back fighting on Saturday, winning 2-1 in a shootout. Newly acquired players Josh Elmes and Vytal Cote each had fighting majors in the first period as Evansville tried to finish the road trip with a victory. Tanner Milliron started in net for the Thunderbolts. Former Thunderbolt goaltender Tyler Parks started for Peoria. Milliron stopped 10 shots in a scoreless first. Parks stopped eight Evansville shots.

Peoria scored early in the second period to take the first lead of the game. Cody Dion scored his fifth goal of the season. Ryan Patsch would answer for the Thunderbolts. He tied the score with 6:41 left. His goal was assisted by Mike Radisa and Phil Bronner.

Evansville drew two power play opportunities in the third period. The man advantage helped them fire nine shots on net. However, the period remained scoreless. Evansville would go to overtime for a fifth time this season with the score knotted at one.

Tanner Milliron stopped 33 shots through three periods and overtime. He stopped six of seven shootout attempts. Dave Williams scored in the fifth round of the shootout to tie the scoring after Johnny Daniels scored for Peoria. Josh Harris scored in the seventh round for the game winning goal.
