
ThunderBolts Take Fourth Straight with 11-2 Win in Rockford

LOVES PARK, IL -The ThunderBolts posted a double digit run total for the third straight game and won their fourth in a row, defeating the Rockford Aviators 11-2 at Aviator Stadium Wednesday night.
The ThunderBolts (25-36) scored their first run in the second inning. After back-to-back hits began the frame, a Ransom LaLonde groundout scored Max White. They gave themselves some breathing room the following inning, scoring three times. Three singles loaded the bases before Mike Torres singled home two more runs. Austin Gallagher brought home a run on a fielder's choice to make it 4-0.
The first six batters all reached for the Bolts in the fourth, as they added five more runs. Coco Johnson and Torres picked up RBI singles and Gallagher drove in two runs on a double.
Torres drove in another run in the fifth when he came up with the bases loaded. He walked, scoring Marquis Riley and making the score 10-0.
Rockford's (35-26) only offense came in the sixth inning when they scored two runs on four hits. Devon Rodriguez and Dusty Robinson each had an RBI single.
Gallagher's sacrifice fly in the seventh wrapped up the scoring for Windy City. He and Torres both finished with four RBIs and Johnson went 5-for-5 and reached base six times. Eight out of nine ThunderBolts finished with at least one hit and seven finished with at least two.
Travis Tingle (4-5) pitched five shutout innings and earned his second straight win while Payton Baskette (1-3) couldn't make it out of the fourth on his way to the loss.
The ThunderBolts will wrap up their three-game series with Rockford on Thursday. In game three against the Aviators, Jake Fisher (2-6, 5.33) will start for Windy City against Rockford's Tony Rizzotti (6-1, 2.12). First pitch from Aviators Stadium on Thursday is scheduled for 6:35 with the broadcast available on WXAV 88.3 FM and wxav.com.
