ThunderBolts Offer Contract to T.O. and Sign T.O.

Windy City ThunderBolts News Release

Crestwood, IL - Today, the Windy City ThunderBolts announced that they have offered a 2006 contract to 5-time NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver Terrell Owens. The terms of the proposed deal were not disclosed.

The 10th year pro has been suspended indefinitely by his team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though football is currently out of the question, Owens' history dictates that he won't be away from competition for long. Owens played for a season with the Adirondack Wildcats of the United States Basketball League. And so, the ThunderBolts hope Owens will choose next to pursue a career on the diamond.

Owens has experience with the national pastime. He earned a letter in baseball at Benjamin Russell high school in Alabama in the late 80's. So, the transition from out-cuts to cut-fastballs should be a smooth one.

With Terrell Owens' contract pending and unbeknownst to most of the media, the ThunderBolts were able to sign Tom "T.O." O'Reilly as the team's new general manager.

This T.O. has been in professional baseball since 1985 and brings a wealth of experience to the Windy City ball club. T.O. has busted out his Sharpie and autographed balls with the Waterloo Indians, Kenosha Twins, Kane County Cougars, and Madison Hatters of the Midwest League, Jamestown Expos of the NY-Penn League, and the Madison Black Wolf and Schaumburg Flyers of the Northern League.

"The ownership of this ball club is on the right track, said O'Reilly. "I feel they wanted to improve their franchise at a faster pace. They are trying very hard to bring the fans of the ThunderBolts a quality product. Also, we will need to generate a greater number of fans. That's my job, and I promise you I'll do my best! That effort and sentiment extends to the entire front office staff. Ultimately, it will be their actions and performance that will determine how successful the ThunderBolts franchise will be."

The Windy City ThunderBolts are a member of the 10-team Frontier League. The Frontier League is an independent league with franchises throughout the upper Midwest. The ThunderBolts have full season tickets, group packages, and 10-game mini plans available for purchase. Group packages include the executive suites, pre-game picnics, birthday parties, and Field of Dreams.
