
Wild Things trade three

Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, Pa -- The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, announced they traded three players Friday. RHP B.J. Borsa, RHP Brendon Davis and C Randy McGarvey were traded to the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League.
B.J. Borsa (2-4) completed the 2005 season with a 5.53 ERA in just over 68 innings on the hill. He allowed 44 runs and struck out 43 during the season.
Brendon Davis (9-1) allowed 62 runs and struck out 76 for the Wild Things in 2005.
And Randy McGarvey had 63 hits and 38 RBI for the Wild Things.
"We'll definitely miss the talent these guys have; they were an integral part of the success of the 2005 team," commented John Massarelli, field manager of the Wild Things. "The important thing is that they're getting an opportunity to play at a higher level, and that's got to be our goal. We want them to have the opportunity to showcase their talents."
Joining the Wild Things is Bronx native, Travis Garcia, an infielder who was selected by the Mets in the 21st round of the 2003 draft. Garcia, who played for the Ohio Valley Red Coats in 2005, was the Frontier League's All-Star third baseman. Also joining the Wild Things is LHP Tom Cochran, a Wilmington, DE native who was drafted by the Red Sox in 2003. Cochran also played for the Red Coats in 2005 where he had a 4.73 ERA, striking out 109 batters.
The Washington Wild Things completed the 2005 season with a 63-32 record, the best in the league. They are scheduled to open the 2006 season at Falconi Field in late May. Season ticket packages are available now.
