Thunderbirds Drop Road Game to Tulsa

TULSA, OK - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds came up short on Friday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, losing to the 66ers, 106-86. Keith McLeod led the way for Albuquerque with 29 points and 5 assists.

Chad Toppert and Antoine Agudio each added 18 points for the T-Birds. Shane Edwards posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for Albuquerque.

The 66ers led 60-49 at the half. McLeod had 16 first half points for Albuquerque.

Albuquerque cut the lead to 10 with 6:50 remaining in the third quarter, but that was close as the T-Birds would get. Tulsa responded with an 11-0 run over the next 3:51, and Albuquerque was unable to mount a comeback down the stretch as the 66ers cruised to the 20 point win.

Byron Mullens led the way for Tulsa with 24 points. Latavious Williams scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for the 66ers.

Albuquerque shot just 39.4% from the field for the game. Tulsa connected on 54.4% of its shots.

The loss is the Albuquerque's seventh straight.

Albuquerque will have a chance to bounce back against the 66ers on Sunday. The game will begin at 3:00 PM, and fans can listen in to the action live on 1050 KTBL.
