LAST WEEK'S GAMES -
Thursday, December 5th
Missouri at Wichita, 8-6 W
-The Thunder jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, but gave up five-unanswered in the second period and trailed by two entering the third. Tomas Klempa got the come-back started with a power play goal and Wichita answered with five unanswered goals in an 11-minute span in the final frame. Jared Walker tallied the game-winner and Jesse Dudas had two goals to help Wichita pull out a 8-6 victory.
Friday, December 6th
Wichita at Missouri, 2-1 W
-Jon Booras and Ian Lowe each had a goal and an assist and David Brown made 30 saves to help secure a 2-1 win on Friday night. Booras tallied the game-winner with eight minutes left as the Thunder improved to 4-3-2 on the road this season.
Saturday, December 7th
Tulsa at Wichita, 4-1 L
-Tulsa netminder Shane Madolora made crucial saves early on several scoring chances for the Thunder and was too strong down the stretch to propel the Oilers to a 4-1 win. Erick Lizon scored the lone Thunder goal that tied the game in the first period 30 seconds after Kyle Bochek got Tulsa going. The Oilers finished the game with three unanswered goals and two in the second period, improving to 3-1-1 in the StoneWolf Casino Cup Series.

STREAK STOPPED - Wichita entered Saturday night's game against the Tulsa Oilers on its first three-game win streak of the season. After several scoring chances were denied by Shane Madolora, the Oilers took advantage and eventually won the game by the final of 4-1. Despite the loss, Wichita has won four-out-of-six and sits in eighth place in the standings, one point ahead of Arizona, who the Thunder will face in two weeks.
SPECIAL TEAMS - Despite going 0-for-7 in the last two games on the man advantage, Wichita's power play unit remains first overall in the league, going 23-for-108, operating at 21.3%. Before Friday's contest at Missouri, the Thunder had scored a power-play goal in five-straight games. On the road, Wichita is 10-for-43, operating at 23%.
SCORCHING - Jon Booras has been on a tear as of late in the goal scoring department. He has recorded goals in five of his last seven games after being held without a tally through the first 14 games of the season. The Billings, Montana native had his point-streak snapped on Saturday night, finishing with 11 in that span. (6g, 5a). He is approaching 500 points all-time, needing 10 more to accomplish that feat (194g, 296a) and is six games away from playing in his 500th game as a pro.
STOPPED - Andrew Martens and Jesse Dudas both had their streaks stopped Friday night. Martens had an eight-game streak stopped with 13 points (2g, 11g) over that span. Dudas also had his eight-game point-streak stopped, finishing with 12 points (4g, 8a) in that span.
ROAD WARRIORS - Wichita continues to have success on the road at Missouri. Since the start of 2011-12, the Thunder is 10-2-1 at the Independence Events Center and is 2-1 this season. Wichita improved to 4-3-2 on the road this year. After tonight, the Thunder will be away from home for five games and will not return to INTRUST Bank Arena until after Christmas.
100 - With five more goals, Matt Robinson will become just the fifth player in team history to record 100 goals in a Thunder uniform. He moved past Mark Karpen on Thursday night with two markers and has 95 points all-time in Thunder blue.
CLOSE CALL - Wichita has played in 12 one-goal contests and is 4-4-4 in those games. Last year, the Thunder was 12-5-8 in games decided by just a goal.
THUNDERBOLTS... Jon Booras has moved up into ninth with 24 points and is tied for fifth in assists (17)...Andrew Martens is first in scoring by defenseman with 18 points...Jesse Dudas is tied in third with 15 points (4g, 11a) while Mike Wilson is tied in seventh with 11 points (3g, 8a)...Wichita is averaging 14.27 PIM per game, which is the lowest in the league...Wichita is second in shots against per game (30.27)...Wichita is 4-4-4 in one-goal games....
The Thunder hit the road for the next few weeks starting with a pair of games at St. Charles on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th, both at 7:05 p.m.. The following week, the Thunder will head to Arizona to face the Sundogs for the first time this season for a two-game set before the holiday break. Wichita's next home game is Saturday, December 28th against St. Charles.
