St. Charles Chill News Release
This Week's Games
Tuesday, December 10 @ Rapid City Rush (16-2-0)
For the first time this season St. Charles squares off against the top team in the CHL at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Arena. The duo of Konrad Reeder (12-1527) and Jesse Schultz (7-2027) are both tied for 5th in the league in points while goalie Tim Boron has posted a league-best 14-2-0 record to go with his top-ranked goals against (2.05) and save percentage (.937).
Wednesday, December 11 @ Denver Cutthroats (11-6-4)
The Chill face Denver for the third time in six days on the heels of a postgame brawl that saw 122 penalty minutes assessed and led to the suspensions of Anthony Perdicaro and Anthony Pisano for two and three games respectively. The two teams split the two games at The Family Arena but Denver picked up the extra point with a shootout loss Friday.
Friday & Saturday, December 13, 14 vs. Wichita Thunder (6-12-4)
St. Charles returns home Friday night for Scout Night with a Teddy Bear Toss at The Family Arena. $10 tickets are available to all scouts and their family and friends by calling the Chill at 636.724.SHOT or going to The Family Arena box office where fans can get five dollars off lower bowl tickets if they bring a teddy bear to donate.
Only Wichita has played more home games (13) than St. Charles but that will change this weekend when the Chill hosts the Wichita Thunder for a pair of games Friday and Saturday night at The Family Arena. The Chill defeated the Thunder in St. Charles in their only previous meeting by a score of 2-1 in overtime with Steve Makway netting the game-winner. St. Charles outshot the Thunder 36-24.
Last Week's Games:
Friday, December 6 vs. Denver Cutthroats (10-6-3)
The Chill gave up a 2-1 lead with under five minutes left in regulation, but picked up an extra point in the shootout. Anthony Perdicaro was the only skater to score in the five-man shootout (and added an assist in regulation) as rookie Linus Lundin earned his first career win. Another rookie, defenseman Zack Josepher, registered his first career point and goal when he put the Chill up 2-1 five minutes into the third period.
Saturday, December 7 vs. Denver Cutthroats (10-6-3)
Denver built a 3-0 lead with Garett Bembridge netting his league-leading 20th goal to get the scoring started. The Chill answered with a goal late in the second period from Perdicaro before Kyle O'Kane closed the St. Charles deficit to just one goal with his ninth. Bembridge added an empty netter with :40 left to seal the win. After the game was official, the Chill and Cutthroats began fighting and 122 penalty minutes were handed out, including 92 against St. Charles with Andrew Conboy (25), Anthony Pisano (42), Greg Brown (15), and Perdicaro (10). Pisano and Perdicaro are suspended three and two games respectively for their actions following the game.
