LAST WEEK'S GAMES -

Wednesday, March 6th

Wichita at Fort Worth, 3-2 L (SO)

-The two teams combined for four goals in the second period, which provided all the scoring in regulation. Kevin Young tied the game with 40 seconds remaining in the second and the two teams skated to a scoreless third period. Fort Worth outscored Wichita 2-0 in the shootout, getting goals in the first two rounds while Wichita was shut down on all four chances.

Friday, March 8th

Denver at Wichita, 9-5 W

-Wichita scored a season-high nine goals, five of which were on the power play. Ian Lowe, RG Flath and Neil Trimm had a pair of goals to lead the way for the Thunder.

Saturday, March 9th

Tulsa at Wichita, 5-3 W

-Wichita trailed 3-1 with less than a minute to go in the second period, but scored the next four including the game-winner from Matt Robinson with just over three minutes left to help the Thunder beat Tulsa. Neil Trimm led the way with four points (2g, 2a).

Sunday, March 10th

Wichita at Missouri, 4-3 W (SO)

-Trailing 3-1 with 12 minutes left, Wichita got two goals in 36 seconds from Ian Lowe and Dave Inman that forced extra time against Missouri. The Thunder would then go on to win in a seven-round shootout as Lowe scored the game-winner.

MAC HITS MILESTONE- Head Coach Kevin McClelland won his 300th CHL game on Sunday. McClelland is 300-169-43 in the CHL, coaching for the Mississippi RiverKings and Colorado Eagles before his duties with Wichita. A two-time winner of the CHL Coach of the Year Award, McClelland is just the seventh CHL coach to reach the 300-win club. The former four-time Stanley Cup winner is in his third season behind the Thunder bench. With five more wins, he would reach 40 victories for the fourth time in his career.

PLAYOFF BOUND- For the third-straight season, Wichita earned a spot in the post-season with its 9-5 win on Friday night. Only three teams have clinched playoff berths as the Brahmas joined the Thunder and the Americans. The other five playoff berths may not be decided until the final day of the regular season as five teams are separated by eight points.

TRIMM RED HOT- Neil Trimm catapulted himself up to seventh in the scoring race with a five-game point streak. Over that stretch, Trimm had 14 points (7g, 7a) including back-to-back four-point performances this past weekend. The fifth-year forward has already set a new personal best in goals and is 10 points shy of new career best in points as he scored 80 points in 2010-11 in Laredo. He sits in third in the league in goals scored (33) and 10th in assists. (37)

SHOOTING FOR 26- Wichita leads the league with 24 home wins and has a chance to tie the franchise record of 26. The 1993-94 squad finished 26-4-2 overall and with two home games remaining, Wichita can equal that feat.

OFF DAYS- Sunday's shootout win helped the Thunder stay perfect on a Sunday without a loss in regulation. Wichita is 5-0-0 at home on a Sunday, 4-0-1 on the road and a combined 9-0-1. Wichita has one game left on a Sunday, which is the final game of the regular season. Wichita plays its final Tuesday contest in Allen on March 19th. When playing on a Tuesday, Wichita is 2-0-0 at home, 3-0-1 on the road and a combined 5-0-1.

ROAD WIN- The Thunder stopped its road struggles with its shootout win on Sunday afternoon. Wichita is 1-3-4 in its last eight road contests and will hit the road for the three more beginning on Friday night at Arizona.

GOING STRONG- Wichita has eight players that have suited up for all 60 games this season. Travis Wight has played in 192-consecutive games in a Thunder uniform. The record for most consecutive games played in Thunder history is Jason Duda at 225 from March 3rd, 2000 to November 18th 2003.

LAST FIVE- Neil Trimm leads Wichita with 12 points (6g, 6a) over the last five. Ian Lowe has 11 points (6g, 5a) while Matt Robinson has eight points (1g, 7a).

MILESTONES- Summers sits at 196 assists and 299 points for his career. Neil Trimm is one goal shy from reaching 100 for his career. Travis Wight is eight games shy of 300 for his career. Les Reaney is six goals shy of that same mark with 94 career goals. Nathan Lutz is approaching 700 career games as he is six games shy. Dustin Donaghy needs eight penalty minutes to reach 200 for his career. Aaron Boogaard is eight games from playing in 300 for his career.

THUNDERBOLTS... Neil Trimm is third in goals (33)...Ian Lowe is tied for second in power play goals (11) while Young and Flath are tied in seventh (9)...Wichita is first in goals scored (217)...Wichita is first in second period goals (86) and first in second period shots (717)...Wichita is first in goals for per game (3.62) and tied in third in goals against per game (2.70)...Wichita is first in shots for per game (33.67) and first in shots against per game (26.12)...Wichita is 21-2-2 when leading after one...Wichita is 25-1-2 when leading after two periods...When trailing after one, Wichita is 9-11-0...When trailing after two, Wichita is 5-15-3...In 1-goal games, Wichita is 10-4-8...In 4-goal games, Wichita is 9-4-0...When scoring on the power play, Wichita is 22-7-4...

Wichita will travel to Arizona next weekend to take on the Sundogs on Friday and Saturday before finishing off its four-game road trip in Allen, TX the following Tuesday.
