Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans and Arizona Sundogs meet for the final time tonight at Allen Event Center, in what could be a possible first round playoff matchup.
The Americans have a lifetime record of 18-7-2 against the Arizona Sundogs, including a 7-4-0 record at Allen Event Center.
Darryl Bootland is the leading scorer against the Sundogs this season; in 11 games Bootland has nine goals, and six assists for 15 points. Ron Meyers leads the Sundogs in points against the Americans, putting up eight points in eight games played. (3 goals and 5 assists)
The Americans and Sundogs made a trade before the deadline sending forward Kip Brennan to Arizona for future considerations. In 13 games for Arizona, Brennan has one goal for one point and 36 penalty minutes.
The Americans can guarantee home-ice advantage in the first round with a win tonight over Arizona. Missouri which is in fifth, can reach 80 points if they win the rest of their games. The Americans can get to 81 points with a win tonight.
The Americans are 6-3-2 against the Sundogs this season, however Allen has lost three straight at home to the Sundogs. Puck drop tonight is 7:05 pm
