
Thunder Walk Off For Third Straight Win

Trenton, NJ- A wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning brought in Austin Krum, and the Thunder secured their third straight win, a 4-3 victory over Bowie at Waterfront Park on Saturday night. With the win, Trenton improves to 14-15 on the year.
RHP Lance Pendleton started for the Thunder, and after retiring the first six batters he faced, Pendleton gave up two runs to Bowie on three hits in the third inning. Both runs scored on a double to center field by Ryan Adams to give Bowie a 2-0 lead.
The Trenton bats came alive in the sixth inning off Bowie starting RHP Tim Bascom. With two outs, Brandon Laird singled into left field, and the next batter, Reid Gorecki, launched a two-run home run over the left field wall to tie it at two.
RHP Cory Arbiso came on in relief of Pendleton, and after retiring the side in order in the seventh inning, Arbiso gave up the go-ahead run in the eighth off a RBI single by Brandon Waring.
The Thunder were able to threat in the bottom of the eighth inning, putting runners at first and third with just one out. But Bowie RHP Pedro Beato was able to strike out the next two batters to get out of the inning.
Then in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, Justin Christian singled up the middle and stole second base to put the tying run in scoring position. After an Austin Krum walk, David Adams knocked a base hit to center field to bring in Christian and tie the game at three. After Austin Romine walked to load the bases, Bowie RHP Eduardo Gamboa (1-2) threw a wild pitch with Brandon Laird at the plate, and Austin Krum scored the winning run from third to give the Thunder a 4-3 victory.
The Thunder conclude their series with the Bowie BaySox on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 PM. RHP DJ Mitchell will start for Trenton, while Bowie will go with LHP Zach Britton.
FIREWORKS CANCELLED DUE TO HIGH WINDS TICKETS MAY BE EXCHANGED
Due to extremely high winds, the New Jersey State Fire Marshall determined that conditions were unsafe for fireworks and that the post game fireworks show had to be cancelled. All fans at Saturday's game may exchange their ticket stub for a club or pavilion level seat, based on availability, barring Major League Rehabs, for the game on Saturday, July 3 OR Thursday, August 19 when there will once again be post game fireworks. Ticket stubs may be exchanged in the ticket office beginning Sunday morning at 9:30 AM.
