
Thunder Pitching Holds Edinburg

EDINBURG, Texas - The McAllen Thunder held the Edinburg Roadrunners offense in check and defeated them by a score of 6-1 in the second game of the double header on Saturday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Thunder scored four runs in the second and third innings to get an early advantage over the Roadrunners that allowed the Thunder to get a split of the double header.
Carlton Salters went 2-for-3 to lead the Edinburg (6-9) offense, but the lone run was score via an error, which allowed Tomochika Tsuboi to score from third.
Jacinto Cipriota led the Thunder (7-8) offense as he went 2-for-2 with a triple, and two runs scored.
Brett Miller (1-0) earned the win for the Thunder going five innings allowing three hits and six strikeouts.
Maximino de la Cruz (0-1) threw a complete game but took the loss as he allowed three earned runs and struck out three hitters.
The Roadrunners and Thunder will play the finale of the four game series on Sunday evening at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch set for 6:05 pm.
Sunday's game will be RGV Food Bank Night where 4 cans of perishable food will get you a general admission ticket to the game.
