Ellison Drives in Four in Cats Loss

The Fort Worth Cats couldn't hold off the San Angelo Colts on Sunday night, falling 7-5 at LaGrave Field.

The Colts (8-8) got the scoring started first for the third time in the series by putting up three runs in the second inning and one in the third off starting pitcher Eric Sheridan.

Fort Worth (10-6) began a comeback in the third with right fielder Chris Ellison's two-RBI double and first baseman Kyle Pearson's RBI single.

The Cats added two unearned runs in the fourth to go up 5-4.

Colts third baseman Jordan Marks led off the seventh inning with a game-tying home run off Cats reliever Stephen Nikonchik.

Nikonchik threw three innings of relief, but surrendered three hits in a row in the top of the ninth, giving the Colts the 7-5 lead.

Ellison went 2-for-4 in Sunday's game with one walk and four RBI.

With the loss, the Cats split the home series with the Colts.

Next, the Cats travel to Alexandria, La. to take on the Alexandria Aces in the four-game series. The first game will take place Monday night at 7:05 p.m.

The Cats next home game will be on Thursday, June 14 when they begin a 12-game series with the McAllen Thunder.
