Wichita Thunder News Release
Wichita, KS (Oct. 14th) - The Wichita Thunder, powered by Toyota, made several roster moves today in preparation for the start of their inaugural season in the ECHL. The team has acquired the ECHL rights to forward Kenton Miller from the Indy Fuel for future considerations. In a separate transaction, forwards Daniel Chang and Evan Mackintosh along with defenseman Scott Morongell were released from their Tryout Agreements. The team has also released forwards Robert Davis and Josh Graves along with defenseman Andrew Randazzo from their ECHL agreements.
Miller, 23, enters his third year as a pro and second year in the ECHL. A native of Redvers, Saskatchewan, the 6-foot, 196-pound forward is a familiar name to Thunder fans as he played his rookie season for the Missouri Mavericks in 2012-13. In 53 games, he recorded 51 points (30g, 21a) and had 11 points (7g, 4a) in 13 playoff games. Miller was also called up to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) for six games. He signed at the beginning of last year with the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL before being traded to the Fort Wayne Komets, where he finished with 20 points (6g, 14a) in 55 games. Prior to turning pro, Miller had a solid junior career, piling up 117 points (60g, 57a) in 242 contests between Spokane, Calgary and Moose Jaw of the WHL from 2008-12.
