O'Donoghue Assigned from Portland

DULUTH, Ga. - Rookie forward Dan O'Donoghue was assigned to the Gladiators from the Portland Pirates, the team announced on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old forward from Port Jefferson Station, NY played in three games for the Pirates at the end of last season, but did not register a point. He also played in both of Portland's preseason games this month and scored a goal.

From 2010 until this past spring, O'Donoghue played in 155 games for Mercyhurst University of the Atlantic Hockey Association. He scored a total of 45 goals and 74 assists for the Lakers, with his best season coming this past year (15g, 28a, +16).

With the team's 11th season in the books, the Gladiators are set to return for their 2014-15 campaign at the Arena at Gwinnett Center with the team's Home Opener set for October 24th at 7:35 p.m. against the Wheeling Nailers.
