Americans Fall to Tulsa in Preseason Opener

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans dropped their preseason opener tonight by a score of 4-2 to the Tulsa Oilers at Allen Event Center in their ECHL debut.
The Americans jumped on the Oilers for two first period goals from Brian McMillin and Gary Steffes, who scored against his former team, to give Allen a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
The Oilers would then score the next four, including back to back goals from Jeff Jubinville, who scored what turned out to be the game winner at 17:57 of the third. He would add an empty-netter at 19:20 to give the Oilers a two goal cushion and a 4-2 win in Allen.
Both teams put up 38 shots a piece, with both being shut out on the power play, Tulsa was 0 for 5 while Allen was 0 for 4.
The Americans will open the regular season at home on Friday, October 24th against these same Tulsa Oilers at 7:05 pm. Tickets for all Americans home games are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or call (972) 912-1000.
