Miller Dealt to Wichita

INDIANAPOLIS - With just three days remaining until the team's inaugural ECHL game vs. the Fort Wayne Komets at the Fairgrounds Coliseum on October 17th, the Indy Fuel traded forward Kenton Miller to the Wichita Thunder in exchange for future considerations, the team announced Tuesday. Miller tallied one assist and a +1 rating in the Fuel's three preseason games this year.

"Kenton is a terrific young player with a bright future ahead of him in professional hockey," said Fuel Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Scott Hillman on Tuesday. "This time of year is full of tough decisions and this was certainly one of them."

After a 51 point showing (30 goals, 21 assists) in 53 games played for Hillman's Central Hockey League (CHL) Missouri Mavericks in 2012-13, the Redvers, Saskatchewan, Canada native logged six games in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Chicago Wolves before spending the 2013-14 season in the ECHL with the Utah Grizzlies and Fort Wayne Komets.

Next up for the Fuel, it's the team's first-ever ECHL regular-season game with the opening faceoff set for 7:35 pm on Friday, October 17th at the Fairgrounds Coliseum vs. the Fort Wayne Komets. Tickets for Friday's inaugural game are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com, via the Fuel's official website, www.indyfuelhockey.com, and at the Fairgrounds Coliseum box office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Fans are encouraged to come early to enjoy the "Fuel Fan Fest" on the Indiana State Fairgrounds from 5-7 pm and all fans in attendance on Friday will receive a commemorative inaugural game rally towel.

Full coverage of Friday's game begins at 7:00 pm on television on RTV6 with veteran Indianapolis hockey voice Jim Mirabello on the call and on the Fuel's flagship radio station, CBS Sports 1430 with Fuel broadcaster Tony Brown providing the play-by-play immediately following coverage of Roncalli Rebels High School Football.
