THUNDER DONATE $11,711 TO C.R. WOOD CANCER CENTER

Glens Falls, NY - The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, have announced today that they have donated over $11,711 to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital as a result of Pink in the Rink Night on Saturday evening at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
The post-game jersey auction raised $11,025, the largest jersey auction total in Adirondack Thunder history. Brian Ward's jersey was the top seller of the evening at $850, while Stepan Falkovsky's jersey was sold for $800. The 50/50 raffle raised an additional $476 towards the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, while the Thunder added another $210 donated through special Pink in the Rink online ticket sales.
The Thunder also honored 15 breast cancer survivors during the jersey auction. Partnering with Glens Falls Hospital to reach out to survivors throughout the area, the local women each walked out with a player as they auctioned off their jersey.
"We'd like to thank our fans for their incredible generosity as we set a franchise standard for a donation through a jersey auction," Adirondack Thunder President Brian Petrovek said. "We'd also like to thank Glens Falls Hospital for their support and partnership. Pink in the Rink has become a must attend game on our schedule every season and we're grateful for the Hospital's efforts on making this year's edition a successful one."
The Pink in the Rink donation is the second made to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center this season. At the 2017 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic, the ECHL Officials donated $2,275 as a part of the All-Star festivities. Along with the donation, ECHL All Stars Tanner Sorenson and Kevin Tansey, as well as Thunder players Dennis Kravchenko and Phil Lane visited patients in the Center as well as the pediatrics wing.
