Americans Hold on for 3-2 Win over Indy

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans blew a 3-0 lead in the third period, but held on for a 3-2 win on Wednesday night over the Indy Fuel. It was the Americans' fourth win a row.

The Americans scored two goals a minute and nine second a part. Spencer Asuchak opened the scoring with his 21st of the season, from Chad Costello and Greger Hanson. Then Allen scored their second of the game 55 seconds into the second period, when Zach Hall beat Jake Hildebrand for his 7th of the season from Bryan Moore. Allen held a 23-17 advantage in shots on goal after forty minutes of play.

The Americans grabbed a 3-0 lead in the third, when Greger Hanson scored number 29 on the year, from Chad Costello and David Makowski. Costello had two points in the game, and is up to 97 points on the season. Hanson is now second in the league in goals scored and tied for second in the ECHL in points with 62.

"We played sloppy at times tonight," said Greger Hanson. "We got off to a good start but let them back in it in the third period. Riley (Gill) had to bail us out once again." Gill stopped 25 of 27 shots winning his 9th straight.

The Americans will take Thursday night off and return home for games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Allen Event Center. Tickets are on sale at Allen Event Center Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.com. 972-912-1000.
