
Thunder Defeat Grizzlies 5-4 in OT

Wichita, Kansas - Mike Economos and Ryan Walters each scored 2 goals for the Utah Grizzlies, who had a 4-1 lead heading into the third period but 4 unanswered goals by Wichita, including the game winner by Jakob Stukel gives the Thunder a 5-4 overtime win on Saturday night at INTRUST Bank Arena.
Utah finished a perfect 2 for 2 on the power play tonight, which means that the Grizzlies were a perfect 4 for 4 on the power play in 2 games in Wichita. Mike Economos got Utah on the board with his 5th goal of the season 8:09 into the contest with a power play goal.
Wichita made it a 1-1 game as Steven Fournier scored his 7th of the season 10:13 into the second period. 9 seconds later Ryan Walters scored his 10th goal of the season. Later in the period, Economos scored his second power play goal of the game. With 51 seconds left in the second frame Walters scored his second goal of the game. Utah led 4-1 after 40 minutes of play.
The Thunder got third period goals from Lane Bauer, Jakob Stukel and Travis Brown tied up the game 4-4 with 2:51 left in regulation. Wichita won it in overtime as Stukel scored the game winner.
Utah got 9 out of 12 standings points on the concluded 6 game road trip.
The Wichita win was the first time they have defeated the Grizzlies in the season series. Utah had won each of the first 7 games vs Wichita this season.
