Thunder Deals Melindy's Rights to Utah

Wichita, KS (Oct. 9th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that the team has dealt the rights for James Melindy to the Utah Grizzlies for financial considerations.

Melindy signed this past summer with the American Hockey League's San Diego Gulls. The Goulds, Newfoundland earned a call-up to the Gulls at the end of last season. He led the team in penalty minutes with 229 in 68 games.

The 26th season of Thunder hockey kicks off on Friday, October 13th against the Indy Fuel.
