Thunder acquires rights to Joly

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder today traded three players to the Tulsa Oilers for the rights to defenseman Mario Joly.

In two seasons, the 6-4, 222-pound Joly notched 23 goals, 96 points and 378 penalty minutes in 109 games with the Oilers. Joly (pronounced JOLLY) was a CHL All-Star in each of the last two seasons.

In return the Oilers receive the rights to defenseman Andrew Nahirniak from the Thunder, as well as the rights to goaltender David St. Germain and forward Bryan Lachapelle. The Thunder acquired St. Germain from Youngstown in May, completing a January trade that Thunder sent defenseman Matt Hanson to the Steelhounds. Lachappelle was acquired from Amarillo in May, completing last August's trade of goaltender Jamie Vandespyker to the Gorillas.

The Thunder will begin their 15th season with a pair of home games on Friday and Saturday, October 20th and 21st. Thunder season tickets, still the least expensive in the CHL, are on sale now, ranging from $256 to $408.
