
Three Win Week for Devils

Rewind:
Wednesday, DEVILS 3 vs. Sharks 0
Scott Clemmensen, on a conditioning assignment from New Jersey, made 35 saves and Aaron Voros scored twice to lead the Devils to a 3-0 win over ! Worcester on Wednesday night at home. Ryan Murphy scored an empty netter to seal the win, which moved the Devils into a fourth-place tie with the Sharks in the Atlantic Division standings.
Friday, Wolf Pack 6 vs. DEVILS 1
Lowell scored first with an opening period tally by Mike Pandolfo, but it was all Hartford after that. The visiting division rivals scored six unanswered goals, including four in the third period, to take a 6-1 win. Jordan Parise suffered the loss in net despite making 43 saves. Hartford outshot the Devils 36-12 over the final 40 minutes.
Saturday, DEVILS 3 vs. Sound Tigers 1
Barry Tallackson had a goal and an assist and Frank Doyle made 29 saves in a 3-1 win over the Sound Tigers at Tsongas Arena. Adrian Foster scored his first goal of the season (in just his eighth game) and Jason Ryznar added his fifth for Lowell. The win closed out the season series with the Sound Tigers with a 2-2-1-1 record.
Sunday, Devils 3 vs. PIRATES 2, OT
The Devils spotted the Pirates a 2-0 lead before storming back to win 3-2 in overtime. Tuomas Pihlman scored twice in the third period, including the one that knotted the score with 4:33 left in regulation, a blast from just inside the blueline. Chris Minard put home his 23rd of the season at 2:39 of the extra session on the power play to take the victory.
In the standings
The Devils 3-1-0-0 record on the week has applied pressure to the Worcester Sharks and Portland Pirates, with whom the Devils are battling for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division right now. They sit in a tie for fourth place with the Sharks, and hold a two-point lead over Portland.
Roster Changes
Devils C Rod Pelley was recalled by New Jersey on Saturday and played in both games against the Washington Capitals over the weekend. He was returned to Lowell on Monday. RW Barry Tallackson was returned by New Jersey from his one-game recall on Friday. G Scott Clemmensen, who was assigned to Lowell for conditioning on Wednesday, was recalled the following day.
Coming Up
The Devils will make up their postponed game against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday, February 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the Hartford Civic Center. They return home for their next three matches, including two this coming weekend. On Friday, they host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 p.m. to wrap up that season series (0-2-1-0 in three games) and on Saturday they host the Providence Bruins at 7:05 p.m. (3-1-1-0 in five games).

Around the Horns
Scott Clemmensen's shutout on Wednesday night was the second of the season for the Devils. Frank Doyle recorded the other, on November 26th against the Providence Bruins.
Tuomas Pihlman's two goal effort on Sunday was his first multiple goal game of the season. It was his second multi-point game this season.
Adrian Foster had sat out the last 13 Devils games before suiting up on Saturday and scoring his first goal of the season. The last game he played was on January 21st.
The Devils win over Bridgeport on Saturday improved their record to 6-1-2-0 at home against East Division clubs.
Sunday's penalty shot goal by Garett Bembridge was the first penalty shot surrendered by Lowell! in team history. They have had two penalty shots of their own this season, with one goal.
Devils RW Aaron Voros received a one-game suspension from the AHL for his match penalty in Portland on Sunday. Voros will sit out Wednesday's game in Hartford.
