
Three Run Fifth Gives Lakewood the Win, 5-2

Rome, GA - The Lakewood BlueClaws defeated the Rome Braves 5-2 Wednesday evening at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 1,222.
Rome grabbed at 1- 0 lead in the second inning on Jean Carlos Encarnacion's RBI ground out. Lakewood tied the game in the third on Daniel Brito's groundout to score a run. In the fifth, the BlueClaws crossed the plate three times highlighted by Brito's RBI single and a two run inside the park home run by Jake Scheiner giving Lakewood a 4-1 lead. The BlueClaws scored a run in the seventh and Rome a run in the eighth for the 5-2 final.
Will Stewart (3-0) gets the win for Lakewood and Odalvi Javier (0-1) is hit with the loss for Rome.
