Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo will play their first home league match since June 9 when they welcome the Los Angeles Football Club to town for the first time Tuesday night. LAFC are the newest entrants into Major League Soccer and are riding high midway through their debut season.

Through 16 games, LAFC sit third in the MLS Western Conference table with 30 points and a 9-4-3 record. Their five road wins are tied for the most in the league this year and they've won three in a row away from home. Houston, meanwhile, has won six straight at home including games played in the league and in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

GAME INFORMATION:

MATCHUP: Houston Dynamo vs. Los Angeles Football Club

TIME: 8:00 p.m. CDT

TV: KUBE 57 (Channel Guide)

RADIO: CBS Sports Radio 650 AM (English); Univision Radio 1010 AM (Spanish)

HERE ARE THREE KEY POINTS YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW AS YOU PREPARE FOR TUESDAY'S MATCH:

1. MANOTAS ON A RUN OF FORM - Dynamo FW Mauro Manotas scored his first career goal on Sept. 9, 2016, and since that day then he ranks seventh among all MLS players with 24 goals. Manotas has always been a streaky scorer, and he's on a hot streak at the moment with four goals in his last three competitive appearances. Keeping him going will go a long way toward driving the Dynamo toward a victory.

2. KEEP IT UP AT HOME - Houston head coach Wilmer Cabrera has talked extensively about turning BBVA Compass Stadium into "a fortress," and by and large he's been successful in that endeavor over the last two years. Since Cabrera took charge in 2017, the Dynamo have won nearly 80 percent of their home league games (17-3-4) and have already taken down several teams who otherwise sit at the top of the standings. Houston crushed league-leading Atlanta United 4-0 on Opening Day, whipped reigning champions Toronto FC 5-1 in April and beat high-flying New York City FC 3-1 in May. With LAFC coming to town, the Dynamo have another chance to take down a league leader.

3. HONORING OUR HEROES - Tuesday's match is the club's annual Honoring Our Heroes Night driven by the Houston Area Ford Dealers, and that means that the fireworks aren't just limited to what happens on the field. Fans will be treated to an early Independence Day celebration with a patriotic postgame fireworks show; and the club will honor the men and women who serve our country throughout the evening. And at halftime, Ford will surprise a member of the military with a free two-year lease of a Ford F-150 pickup on the field!
