
Three of Top Five Blue Jays Prospects highlight SkyChiefs roster

The Syracuse SkyChiefs announced today the roster for the start of the 2004 season. Three of Baseball America's Top Five Blue Jays Prospects will start the season in Syracuse including the Blue Jays top prospect, outfielder Alexis Rios.
Rios, 22, is rated by Baseball America as the Blue Jays #1 Prospect. Rios was the MVP of the Eastern League for 2003 (.352, 82 RBI) and followed that performance with an MVP season in the Puerto Rican Winter League.
Catcher Guillermo Quiroz, 22, is rated by Baseball America as the Blue Jays #3 Prospect. Quiroz leads the SkyChiefs this spring with four home runs. Quiroz spent last season with Double-A New Haven (.282, 20HR, 79 RBI).
Outfielder Gabe Gross, 24, is rated by Baseball America as the Blue Jays #4 Prospect. Gross split last season between Double-A New Haven, (.319, 51 RBI) and Syracuse (.264, 23 RBI).
The Syracuse roster also includes pitcher David Bush, rated by Baseball America as the Blue Jays #7 Prospect and shortstop Russ Adams, rated by Baseball America as the Blue Jays #9 Prospect. Five first round picks are on the roster including Rios (19th overall, Blue Jays 1999), Gross (15th overall, Blue Jays 2001), Adams (#14 overall, Blue Jays 2002), Pitcher Mark Lukasiewicz (41st overall, Blue Jays 1993) and Outfielder Chad Hermansen (10th overall, Pirates 1995).
