Indianapolis Indians News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. â The Indianapolis Indians, following a rain out Friday, have completed their exhibition schedule for the 2004 season. Today's game against the Iowa Cubs will not be made up, and Sunday's game against Salt Lake (ANA) will not be played.
The Tribe has not lost since a March 26 contest against Oakland's Triple-A team. The past week, the Indians have gone on a 5-0-1 tear, defeating Sacramento (OAK), Salt Lake twice, Fresno (SF) and Iowa once each, with their lone tie coming against Portland (SD) on Wednesday.
The team will arrive in Indianapolis Monday, April 5, and will conduct a handful of practices at Victory Field before opening the season on the road against the Norfolk Tides on April 8.
On Tuesday, April 6, the Indians will host Media Day for members of the media beginning at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Indians' workout session, including infield and batting practice, will be open to the public.
The Indians' home schedule commences April 15 at 2 p.m., with the Indians taking on Norfolk. Opening Day will be broadcast live on WHMB-TV 40. All 144 games will be broadcast on WXNT-AM 1430 and over the internet.
