Arizona Rattlers News Release

PHOENIX - Rattlers Head Coach Kevin Guy announced the signings of three more players to the revamped 2008 Arizona squad, with WR/LB JERRIAN JAMES (6-0, 190, Houston), OL JASON MURPHY (6-2, 304, Virginia Tech) and DL JOHNNY JACKSON (6-0, 300, West Alabama) becoming the newest additions.

Since the dispersal draft less than three weeks ago, the Rattlers have added 26 new players to Guy's squad. The team is allowed up to 37 players for training camp.

James, a three year veteran, also played for Guy when both were with Arena2's Tennessee Valley Vipers in 2003 and '04. In stints with Orlando (2005-07) and Philadelphia (2007), James has amassed 170 receptions for 1989 yards and 37 touchdowns. Also known for his playmaking ability on defense, James has had 101 tackles, seven pass breakups, four forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries.

Murphy, who comes to the Rattlers from the Seattle Seahawks, also has had stints with the San Diego Chargers and NFL Europe's Frankfurt Galaxy. He played at offensive line for two seasons at Virginia Tech after switching from defensive tackle, being named to the All-ACC Conference First Team his senior season.

Jackson concluded his college career at West Alabama, Guy's alma matter. In his senior season in 2006, Jackson finished fifth on the team in tackles (50), third on the team in sacks (3.5) and totaled 8.5 tackles for a loss. For his efforts, Jackson was named to the 2006 All-Gulf South Conference Second Team.
