Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
SAINT JOHN, August 21, 2005 - The Saint John Sea Dogs have dealt goaltender Philippe Roberge to the Rimouski Oceanic in exchange for a 5th round pick in the 2007 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Entry Draft.
The Sea Dogs claimed the 19-year-old Roberge from Drummondville in the 7th round of the QMJHL Expansion Draft in early June. Roberge has played 128 games over four seasons for Rouyn-Noranda and Drummondville.
"We have been pleased with the performances of both Riley Whitlock and Matt Kimber," said Bob "Tipper" LeBlanc, general manager of the Sea Dogs. "They have stepped it up and we feel very comfortable with the three goaltenders we have in camp."
Former Halifax Moosehead and San Jose (NHL) draft pick Jason Churchill is the other backstop at training camp.
The Saint John Sea Dogs are the newest member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and are one of 58 member clubs of the Canadian Hockey League.
