Three-Game Quebec Road Trip Starts Tonight

Your Halifax Mooseheads begin the longest road trip of the season in terms of distance travelled tonight when they open a three-game swing through Quebec at 8pm AST in Blainville-Boisbriand. The Herd will travel more than 3,700 kilometers before it's all said and done while also visiting Val d'Or on Friday and Rouyn-Noranda on Saturday. Both of those games are 8pm AST starts.
The Herd got back in the win column on Sunday with an impressive 4-0 shutout of the Moncton Wildcats after suffering back-to-back losses to Baie-Comeau and Cape Breton that snapped a season-best 10-game winning streak.
Halifax placed third in the CHL Top 10 Rankings released on Tuesday, dropping down from four weeks at number one. The club boasts a record of 19-5-2-0 which is second in the QMJHL and eight points behind the Drakkar. Meantime, Blainville-Boisbriand has been a middle of the pack team this season with a 13-11-2-0 record which has them 10th overall in the league. 19-year-old forward Jonathan Fauchon leads the Armada in scoring with 30 points with 10 goals and 20 assists. He set a career high with 65 points last season and earned an invitation to Philadelphia Flyers rookie camp as a free agent.
The Mooseheads have gone 8-2-1 vs Blainville since the 2017-18 season which includes a 3-1 victory this season on Scotiabank Centre ice when Mathis Rousseau stopped 19-of-20 shots and Halifax scored three goals in the third period en route to the win on October 7th. Lou Levesque had one of the Mooseheads goals in that win but will not be in the lineup tonight. He remains out indefinitely with an upper body injury, while Logan Crosby will also sit out again with an injury.

Friday's matchup against Val d'Or pits the Mooseheads against the lowest ranked team in the QMJHL. The Foreurs are at the bottom of the standings this season with just seven wins in 25 games. From there it's on to Rouyn-Noranda for a stiff test against one of the most talented clubs in the league. The Huskies have yet to really hit their stride in a season that is full of high expectations, yet they still lead the West Division with 32 points and are expected to be buyers at the trade deadline over the Christmas break.
The next home game for the Herd is Thursday, December 7th against Drummondville. Halifax will also host Gatineau on Friday, December 8th. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.ca.
