July 22, 2005 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Worcester Tornadoes News Release

The Hagerstown Suns return to Municipal Stadium this Saturday, July 23rd, for their final homestand of the month. The Suns will entertain the Lake County Captains for two games, along with one single game versus the Delmarva Shorebirds on Monday. The three game set features a visit from one of the world's best selling authors, two giveaways, another great fireworks show and free food for everybody on Monday night.

The excitement begins tomorrow, Saturday, as the Suns will welcome bestselling author Nora Roberts to the ballpark. Roberts will participate in a pre-game ceremony, throw out the ceremonial first pitch and be available to sign autographs for the first two innings of the Suns game against the Captains. The game starts at 7:05pm.

In addition, the first 1,000 people through the gates on Saturday will receive commemorative 25th anniversary caps, presented by First Data. The baseball cap is the third in a series of three during our 25th Anniversary season that represents the different eras of Suns baseball. Following the game, fans will be treated to the area's best fireworks display, presented by U.S. Cellular and Lite 97.5 FM.

On Sunday, Municipal Stadium is once again "going to the dogs" as Park Circle Animal Hospital and Cool 95.9 FM present the annual "Dog Days of Summer." All fans are invited to bring their canine pals to the game and participate during in-game promotions such as "best trick," an owner/dog look-alike contest and "best bark." Dogs and their owners will also be invited to participate in a parade and canine fashion show prior to the game's start. The Herald-Mail will be distributing Frisbees to the first 1,000 fans (canine or human) to enter the stadium.

Also before the game, Suns players will be available for a pre-game autograph session, courtesy of Photography by Dale and WEPM Sports 1340am. Ballpark gates will open for the autograph session at the special time of 4:15pm. Game time is 5:35pm.

Sunday's a busy day as the Suns standard Sunday promotions will take place including the Herald-Mail Family Sundays, where fans get 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas and 4 popcorns for just $25 dollars with the coupon from Saturday or Sunday's Herald-Mail newspaper. Sundays are also the day when kids can go on the field to be read to pre-game by Suns players during Suns Story Time presented by the Washington County Arts Council. Following the game, Antietam Cable Advertising and the Suns invite all kids on the field to run the bases. On their way out of the stadium, fans can pick up a coupon for a free small ice cream cone from the Maugansville Creamery.

Monday night, the Suns welcome the Delmarva Shorebirds at 7:05pm as Suns fans embrace the return of Feed-Your-Face Monday presented by Ryan's Steakhouse and New York Pizzeria & Pub. Tickets are $10 (general admission) or $12 (VIP Seats) and include all-you-can eat for free from those two restaurants as well as the Suns concession stands.

The Suns are the single A affiliate of the New York Mets and are owned by Los Angeles based Mandalay Baseball Properties. For more information, or to purchase tickets, contact the Suns at 301.791.6266, visit us online at www.hagerstownsuns.com or email info@hagerstownsuns.com.
